About Us
Scandia Kitchens, Inc was founded in 1962 and incorporated in 1978 by its present owner, David Dorrer, Sr.
The factory and showroom were completed in 1980, and were designed specifically to meet the needs of the builders, architects, designers and homeowners that purchase our products. The showroom houses three complete kitchens, several vignettes and samples of all of the woods, colors, door/drawer styles, countertop options, marble, granite, a number of quartz materials, Corian, Formica, etc., as well as many unique design ideas.
Our reputation has been built on a vast network of satisfied customers, and we pride ourselves on standing behind the products that we manufacture. The fact that we are a local manufacturer is also appealing because it allows us to create any style, color, or accessory that our customer desires, while giving us the ability to deal with any type of situation that arises within 24 hours.

David Dorrer Sr. began his woodworking career in high school in a custom cabinet factory. He quickly worked his way up from cabinetmaker to foreman to designer/salesman. His lifelong experience has made him a one of a kind expert in cabinet design. He has an innate ability to walk into an empty room and immediately visualize the fullest potential of the space.

Linda, David's wife handled the decorating and advertising for the company for many years. In 1996 she joined the company on a full-time basis and is now responsible for the daily operations in the office and showroom.

David and Lindas son, David Dorrer Jr. began working at Scandia part time during his high school years in the factory and continued during college in the factory and as an installer. He, then, co-coordinated the deliveries and installations for Scandia for 14 years while developing his design/sales career. This 20+ years of experience, combined with his degree from Stonehill College in 1989, provided him with the knowledge to begin his career as an extremely detailed custom cabinet designer who has learned the business from the ground up.

David and Linda's youngest daughter, Colleen Lord began her designer career at a young age by working at the home shows that Scandia exhibited in for many years. After graduating from Saint Anselm College, she spent the next 5 years as an apprentice to her father. She also attended various NKBA design courses. As a designer and a cook, the most valuable elements to her are the importance of combining functionality with the exquisite overall appearance.

Dave and Linda's Son in law, John Caccavo has many years of experience as a manager in the construction industry. He is the shop foreman at Scandia Kitchens and is responsible for the day to day operations in our factory and the ever so important role of quality control. John is also responsible for the maintenance of the property.

John has been a member of the Scandia Kitchens team since 1981. His experience has prepared him for him for the important role of converting each of the designers plans into factory language that describe each of the cabinets construction method and components. This allows the cabinets to process through each department in the factory.

Jonathan Arnold is the newest member to join our team. With 18 years dedicated to construction, woodworking & kitchen/bath remodeling he has developed a keen eye for details. Jonathan's knowledge, passion for kitchen design along with his great personality have brought him to Scandia Kitchens as a Design Consultant.
